Since 1999, Ms. Higgs has been Producing Director of Kingdom County Productions and Director of Fledgling Films, Kingdom County Productions' educational division. She served as Producer on Mr. Craven's television series, Windy Acres, and as Associate Producer for his feature film, The Year That Trembled. She has produced five years of the Fledgling Films Summer Institute, an intensive writing and production program for teenagers, during which 25 short films have been made. Higgs received a B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1994.
